LoRaWAN or Long Range Wide Area Network is a long range, low power platform, which is used to power of Things () applications.

The company has installed multiple gateways around the area, with the potential to support “millions” of devices.

Connexin also said that it would provide open access to the network for “hobbyists, community groups and educational organisations such as schools for STEM opportunities.”

One of the first initiatives to take advantage of the network with be the city’s smart bins pilot.
