Our Data Platform team provides a comprehensive and robust foundation for Bloomberg Application teams to acquire, store, and transform various types of client-facing data. Bloomberg leverages more tools and open source technologies every year, and our team is expanding to ensure engineers here are well-equipped to take advantage of those tools.
We are hiring for our Data Snapshot team which seeks to provide an enterprise-wide standardized view of Bloomberg’s financial data sets. Our platform will enable cross domain analytics across data sets and aid the discoverability of new data sets. In short, this platform will revolutionize the way Bloomberg manages and applies complex analytics on disparate financial data sets.
As a team we work extensively with technologies in the Hadoop ecosystem including HBase and Hadoop to provide distributed acquisition, storage, and retrieval solutions with a focus on high availability, stability and performance.
We’re looking for experienced Java developers who have maintained or developed solutions within a large-scale distributed system environment in order to drive our challenging vision to provide dependable and comprehensive access to Bloomberg’s financial data sets enterprise-wide.
We’re always looking for passionate and energetic problem solvers to join us. While I mostly cover Big Data, we have full-time software engineering openings across a variety of teams.
