The other day thanks to a photo that was leaked, some alleged details about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 might hae been revealed. This is because the photo in question was that of the retail box, which revealed details like the screen size, RAM, storage capacity, and also the cameras.
If the leaked info is correct, we’re looking at dual 12MP OIS cameras, but that might not be all. Thanks to a sighting by Galaxyclub.nl (via SamMobile), it seems that Samsung might have revealed more details about its upcoming camera in the Galaxy S9. This is according to Samsung’s website in which details about a new camera sensor was revealed.
The sensor in question is a new ISOCELL sensor is said to be of the 3-stack fast-read-out variety. It will feature three layers which in theory should make it faster and more accurate when it comes to focusing. It is also said to help facilitate 480 frames-per-second video capture in Full HD mode. As pointed out by SamMobile, Sony’s Xperia XZ Premium is capable of 960 frames-per-second in 720p HD quality, but only in short bursts, so it will be interesting to see if Samsung will be able to extend that duration.
Also the way the image is shown on the website (see image above), we can’t but think that Samsung could be teasing the dual camera setup. In any case we should find out for ourselves soon enough as Samsung had previously confirmed the Galaxy S9’s launch for MWC 2018.
