Can you imagine what a lighter with bling would look like?
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the petrol lighters, the crafty group at S.T. Dupont has given you an exact image to go with that thought. It may not be the lighter you’d prefer to light candles on a birthday cake, but it is definitely the lighter to have if you want to catch everyone’s attention. From how it looks to how it works, the limited-edition S.T. Dupont Complication Lighter is unlike any other lighter.
The external finish. The Complication Lighter is made of the same material used in most sought-after weddings bands: Palladium. Choose between full Palladium or yellow gold and Palladium. For those who need a brush-up on their metals, Palladium is one of the world’s rarest high-quality metals, but definitely the least expensive. It looks very similar to platinum, but not as heavy. The artisans at S.T. Dupont did not stop at palladium. The Complication Lighter also has nine – yes, nine – rubies for a most exquisite look.
The design. Ever wonder what goes on inside a lighter? The Complication Lighter’s skeletal design will let you have a glimpse of the interlinking system that makes it so unique. The lighter has a revolutionary dual-ignition system with a soft and torch flame. You can choose between a yellow or blue flame and even modulate the flame by pushing levers on the side of the lighter.
The price. The S.T. Dupont Complication Lighter is presented in a lacquered wooden box and can be yours for $41,000. With its one-of-a-kind and patented new technology, the lighter is truly a collectors’ item. The price should not be surprising as its 145th Anniversary Travel Case Humidor costs about $145,000.
According to Michel Adé, International Sales Director for S.T. Dupont, they will only be making 8 numbered pieces of the Complication Lighter, with each one made to order.
